Diana Gorbunova, MA, LGPC
Therapist
My name is Diana, and I am a bilingual mental health provider fluent in Russian and English. I specialize in supporting the mental health of minority populations, including LGBTQIA+ individuals, as well as adolescents and adults navigating complex challenges such as career transitions, family dynamics, immigration experiences, and aspects of sexual orientation or gender identity. My practice also encompasses the treatment of substance use concerns, where I assist clients in uncovering underlying factors and establishing sustainable coping strategies within a compassionate, judgment-free framework.
As an immigrant, I bring a deep appreciation for diversity and multiculturalism. My clinical work is informed by experience with individuals from varied backgrounds, and I tailor my therapeutic approach to the unique needs of each client.
I integrate evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based interventions, trauma-focused therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). These methods are employed through a culturally sensitive, identity-affirming, and trauma-informed lens to encourage self-discovery, emotional resilience, and personal transformation. I focus on helping clients gain insight into the emotional and psychological impact of their experiences while fostering the development of healthier emotional relationships and adaptive behaviors.
Mindfulness is a cornerstone of my practice, enabling clients to cultivate presence, self-awareness, and acceptance as tools for emotional balance and personal growth. I also honor the role of spirituality in facilitating resilience, meaning, and healing. For clients who wish to explore or deepen their spiritual practices, I provide guidance on integrating these dimensions into the therapeutic process.
Additionally, I am passionate about the emerging field of psychedelic-assisted therapy, recognizing its potential to facilitate profound healing, resolve trauma, and inspire transformative personal insights. I remain dedicated to staying informed about the latest research and clinical advancements in this innovative area of mental health care.
My therapeutic style is collaborative and solution-oriented, emphasizing actionable, evidence-based strategies to address client concerns. Together, we work to identify strengths, overcome barriers, and build pathways to lasting well-being and self-empowerment.
